Position Title: Transportation Seasonal Help

The Ohio Department of Transportation, District Seven, is now accepting applications for our Transportation Seasonal Help (TSH) program for the following counties/departments: Business & Human Resources, Facilities, Traffic, Champaign County, Clark County, Darke County, Logan County, Mercer County, Miami County, & Shelby County. This program is for 40 hours per week for 14 weeks not to exceed 560 total hours.
Duties: Clean along our highways, flag in work zones, pick up litter, basic general labor, as well as other related miscellaneous duties.
TSH employees who have a valid driver’s license are permitted to operate pickup trucks, vans, station wagons, passenger cars, push mowers and simple riding lawn mowers only. TSH employees are not permitted to operate heavy equipment of any kind, including, but not limited to, equipment which requires a commercial driver’s license.
Experience/Certification Required:
Minimum Qualifications: AGE: Must be 18 years old or a high school graduate who has attained the age of 17 years.
If operating a state owned vehicle, must show proof of valid driver’s license.
The final applicant selected for these positions will be required to submit to urinalysis prior to appointment to test for illegal drug use. Applicants with positive test results will not be offered employment.

REPORTS TO: OFFICE MANAGER
OBJECTIVES: The primary goal of this position is the timely and accurate completion of Accounts Receivable functions along with all other required accounting reports and records and to strive for overall departmental excellence.
REQUIREMENTS: Position requires 2 year Accounting Degree. Also required are knowledge of Excel, written and verbal communication skills, excellent math skills, organizational skills, phone skills and a working knowledge of computers as they apply to the positions’ duties.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Generate routine invoicing for cash sales, feed, medication, vaccines, fuel and other miscellaneous charges thru automated order entry system.

2. Review On Account payments and process all checks through “In House” deposit machine.

3. Provide oversight for daily audits and calculating of daily sales and reconcile monthly.

4. Reconcile A/R on a weekly, monthly and yearly basis and forward associated paperwork to Office Manager for proper filing.

5. Maintain an understanding of all A/R related procedures including monitoring customers and their compliance with our credit terms.

6. Provide back up for the front desk including answering phones and testing grain.

7. Perform related duties as assigned by the Office Manager.

8. Maintain a good attendance record and report to work on time.

9. Maintain an active interest in improving your performance level.
