Solid Rock Friday

Welcome to the Solid Rock Friday page. Let me tell you a little bit of history concerning Solid Rock Friday. Once JOY-FM came into existence in early 1999, I came to Dan Franks with the idea of a show geared to teenagers and young adults that played music just a little bit harder than regular JOY-FM programming.

On July 11, 1999, Friday Night Teen Music Night ran it’s first program from 8:00 PM – 12:00 AM. In August, 1999, the show changed its name to Solid Rock Friday. It’s been many years now, and the show is still going strong.

The purpose of our show is to play music that has a message that will catch the young teens’ and adults’ ear. We play artists like Audio Adrenaline, Newsboys, Relient K, Flight 180, John Reuben, KJ-52, Mortification, Zao and Project 86 just to name a few. Here we don’t play a song just because we like the way it sounds; we also take a hard look at the words to see what they say.

We do this because we feel this show is a ministry too. So if you haven’t heard the show, give it a try, you may just become a fan.

We air Solid Rock Friday 8:00 PM – 12:00 AM every Friday night.
